Cream together…
½ cup shortening
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar

1 egg

Mix in…
1 cup coconut
1 cup rolled oats

Sift together and add to the above mixture
¾ cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt

Fold in
1 cup chocolate chips

Drop by spoonfuls on lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes until lightly brown.
