CRUST
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 egg yolk
milk to make 1/2 cup
FILLING
1 cup crushed corn flakes
4 large apples peeled and sliced
1 cup wt sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg white beaten stiff
GLAZE
1 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp sugar
1 Tbsp water
Crust:
Measure flour,salt and butter into bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Using fork, beat egg yolk with small bit of milk in measuring cup. Add milk to make 1/2 cup Add to for mixture and shape into 2 equal balls. Roll 1 ball into12 x 17 inch size. Put onto jelly roll pan pressing up sides.”Filling:
Filling:
Scatter corn flakes over crust. Arrange apple over crumbs. Roll remaining pastry. Moisten bottom crust edges.Cover with sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover pastry and seal. Cut slits in top crust.
Beat egg whites stiff. Brush on crust. Bake at 375 oven for about 35 minutes until browned and apples are tender.
Glaze while warm.
