~ Sunrise
~
This tutorial was written by me, and any resemblance to any other tut
is purely coincidental. This tutorial assumes you have a working
knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
For this tutorial you will need Paint Shop Pro. I used PSP8 but it can be done quite easily with any
other version. A Photo or image of a sunrise or sunset. .
Remember to use appropriate copyright if it applies. due to
copyright issues, I
will not be including the photo I used in my supplies A thick and a thin fonts of your choice
I am pleased to be able to use the photography of
Flora Elson. The beautiful pictures she takes of the big land are
breathtaking, and am happy to show them off in some of my work on my site.
Thks Flo
The supplies I used are
here.
~Let's get started!~
Make a new image 600 X
600
always give yourself plenty of room, one can always resize
later, and remember to save often ;)
Take the photo you are using; Copy &
paste as a new layer into your new image. Crop/resize to make your photo a
workable tag size. Open new raster layer. Click on text tool with
jms-gold gradient as
foreground and background as nul. Click on image, choose font, size.
I used Rockwell Extra bold, size 80,
stroke width 2
Type in text, click apply. Position/stretch text the
way you want. (see tag for
suggestion) Selections - Select
all - Selections - Float Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel -
Metallic button preset
Deselect Click on your magic wand: mode replace, 0 tolerance, 0 feather,
inside. Holding down on shift key, click inside
every letter. Selections, modify, expand 2, ok. Open new raster layer.
Flood fill with desired color, to match your photo. Change opacity on this layer
to make desired effect for your tag.
I chose a gradient tp_Apricot angle
180, repeats 0, invert unchecked, linear style with an opacity of 26%
Drop this layer below the text layer from before. Now if you wish to
add any more text, do so. Add Drop shadow.
For "in Labrador"; in the materials
I changed the foreground color nul, background color gradient tp_Apricot angle
180, repeats 0, invert unchecked, linear style. I chose Moderna font
, size 28 Then a drop shadow I used -2vertical, -2horizontal, 90
opacity, 3 blur, #000000 color For "the beauty surrounds"; in the
materials are the same as above. I chose Snappy Script font , size
20 Then a drop shadow I used -2vertical, -2horizontal, 90 opacity, 3
blur, #000000 color

Now we will make a pattern/tile, as well as
make a simple frame. Take a copy of your picture, paste as a new image. Crop the
tube so that you only have a part of the sky, your choice as to what part. Go to effects - image effects
- seamless tiling, choose whatever settings desired.
I used factory defaults and changed
the opacity on the layer to 70%.
This will be your texture when needed, keep
open for now. Save as 'sunshinetexture.jpg'.
~ Now, 'copyMerged' your tag
and paste as new image. I do this so that I can save my bases, so at any
time I can go back an change or add.
