Larry Paul Bartlett
Larry came into my life when I joined the Capricorn
in 2003. I had worked with his daughter Kelly, and had heard lots about
"Dad" and the whole family when I had worked with her at the Warehouse.
Upon entering the restaurant, Larry welcomed me
with open arms and made me feel very much a part of the Capricorn family.
Larry helped wherever needed, whether to "fix" something, to lending a
hand during the busier times. He was a part of the team. I can remember the first fall, how I was having a
hard time during an anniversary of Sarah's passing. The following year,
during that same time... Larry ask how I was doing; he had remembered.
This was a man who truly cared...paying attention to things that mattered
to people. I can remember him calling me Doll; now mind you he
called all the girls that LOL but found it heart warming, specially
unbeknownst to him, it was one of my nick's on line. I saw changes in
Larry...and soon came to realize he had become bound to an addiction that
he couldn't control. The many times he tried, yet every time the
disease grasped a hold of him tighter than before. Seeing the destruction
because of this disease is so sad, not only for the person but as well as
the family; A family who he truly loved, but due to the pull of that which
took control, took precedence.
In listening to the song If Only
by the Ennis Sisters, I think of Larry.
If only....
Miss you Larry
