Oh my, this lesson has gotten me playing LOL I just hope I don't miss anything. I love my PSP and graphics, and when I seen learning to put images on your page...WHOOOOO HOOOO LOL. I must say though, all I am using is notepad. Typing and editing everything from just notepad is a little more tedious, for in those editors there's easy helps in doing things but I find in forcing myself to do this from scratch, I'm hoping it will stick in this old noggin of mine. So, I hope I'm not missing anything in my tangent of excitement.

So Many Things To Learn
Oh my, let me see if I can list them.. background image/tiling (lol I made my own), getting the file to website (I already know), putting images on your page, learning the definitions of each of jpg, gif was interesting...I knew the differences but not what the actual initials meant. Oh yes there's alignments of those images hmmmm I have shown left image alignment, center alignment hmmm lets do an image centered by using the DIV tags as well as right alignment.
OK for right alignment remember to give it some space with the HSPACE tag, especially when placing it around words so the text doesn't look like it's riding the picture LOL. Ohhh yes lets not forget the adding of the height and width of an image and the ALT text for visually impaired/non image pages. I had come across this when using Joomla this past month and wondered what it was all about, well now the pieces of the puzzle are falling together...as well as seeing them DIV tags and wondered what they were all about.
Now in linked pictures you get a border but now if you want a pic (non link) to have a border then you must add a bit more.... for example add BORDER="5" after the IMG and before the SRC making sure to leave one space before and after. Sometimes a pic needs a little help to make it stand out...then sometimes, it doesn't LOL. So to give example of the border as well as using the DIV tags lets giver a try. The first one is the afore mentioned, the second is an align right image...I don't think I have shown one yet.
LMAOOOOOOoo always remember to put the appropriate height n width in..LMAO or your pic will be NOT what its to look like LOLOL an oh yes, one last and final thing is making those images as links...with a border and without...

(with a border) just click to visit
sample thumbnail
It's nice to use thumbnails at times to show perhaps a larger picture, for when having large graphics on a page, it slows the loading of it, especially people on dial up. A tiny little gallery of snaps at times using thumbnails is a good thing. I have visited pages where many large pictures are on it, and being on dial up, I usually end up closing the page...not a good thing if you want someone to stay at your site.
I think that sums it up on things I have learned from this lesson. I have tried to put what I have learned on my homework page is some way or another, I just hope I didn't miss anything.
Note to self: EEEEEks , so easy to miss things. The octothorp being #, LOL pound key to me in all the years of cookin, but new definitions to learn as well as be on top of making sure to remember it with the hex....hmmm the RBG value that is lol. Annnnnd I MUST NOT FORGET to CLOSE PARAGRAPH tags...good lard. do I have to write it 50 times ta drill it in LOLOL *smack* *smack* I WILL GET THIS, I will.

Color My Pages
Oh my lard, I feels like a kid with a box of million crayons, and just like when I was younger, never knew what color to use first LOL. Oh me nerves! One thing I never liked was clutter, and to me too many colors was always like drawing outside of the lines, causing too much chaos and distraction. So the changing of colors here on these homework pages were alot for me, but wanting to make sure i had shown the different ways taught, I tried to include different ones....LOl I hope.
So this lesson taught the Styling of text changing the font, size and color.A taste of things to come with CSS, "Cascade Style Sheets" which make up the style of webpages. Five different styles of fonts come into play and their families. As to what fonts are the best on different browsers is important to understand. In knowing this when making a webpage, one can choose appropriately so that everyone can read and enjoy your site.
In getting a taste of CSS I am getting a better idea of the CSS style sheets i've seen and how they act with different elements to be able to allow different color, font and size to be applied. Pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Now if I could get this full feeling out of my head LOL.

I found it hard to believe when I read the message at the last of the lesson 5 that the exam would be next. I have been having so much fun, and here it has been barely 2 days into the two week course. But I have learned lots, and have been able to piece together a lot of what I did know, something I needed. I want to thank Andy, my instructor for his guiding eyes and knowledge to set me straight on things needed. It's nice knowing you have the support there and fast response of which I found fantastic!! Thanks to WebTech University for making such a course availiable. It is one I will definately will spread to others an place a link at my site for others that may take interest. And now, to pass my last lesson in, and study for my exam.
Thanks So Much for Your Time & Knowledge
